To stop Gmail from automatically adding a signature to every email you compose:
1. Click the Settings icon in Gmail's navigation bar.
2. Select Settings from the menu that has appeared.
3. Go the general tab.
4. Make sure No Signature is selected under Signature. Gmail will save any signatures you have set up for your accounts; you do not have to re-enter them when you turn on email signatures again.
5. Click Save Changes.
