How to create a Gmail signature

An email signature is text, like your contact information or a favorite quote, that’s automatically added at the end of Gmail messages as a footer.

For Computer


Add or change a signature

You can put up to 10,000 characters in your signature.

1. Open
Gmail.

2. In the top right, click
Settings and then See all settings.

3. In the "
Signature" section, add your signature text in the box. If you want, you can format your message by adding an image or changing the text style.

4. At the bottom of the page, click
Save Changes.


For Android


Add or change a signature

Set up a signature that shows up only for emails you send from the Gmail app.

1. Open the
Gmail app.

2. In the top left, tap
Menu.

3. Scroll to the bottom, then tap
Settings.

4. Choose the
Google Account where you want to add a signature.

5. Tap
Mobile Signature.

6. Enter the text for your signature.

7. Tap
OK.


For iPhone & iPad


Add or change a signature

If you have multiple accounts in the
Gmail app, you need to change this setting for each account.

1. Make sure you've downloaded the
Gmail app.

2. On your i
Phone or iPad, open the Gmail app.

3. Tap the
Menu.

4. Scroll to the bottom, then tap
Settings.

5. Tap
your account.

6. Tap
Signature settings.

7. Switch the "
Mobile Signature" setting on.

8.
Add or edit your mobile signature.

9. To save, tap
Back.
